FTL:Faster Than Light

Faster Than Light is a  role playing game. In this game you are a captain of your space ship and you are running from rebels. The player views the ship from a birds eye view and can control everybody and almost everything in the ship. The player can controls the power from the core reactor to the systems of the ship: shields, weapons, engines, cloaking, oxygen, ect. Power can be taken away from one system and put into another. For example energy could be taken away from the shields to the engines if they didn't have enough power to have both. When ever you get in a fight with another ship and you kill them you receive scrap metal and sometimes fuel, missiles, or drone parts. With scrap you can upgrade your ship's systems and buy more power from the core reactor. There are stores you can fly to to buy fuel, missiles, and drone parts, you can also buy weapons, drones, ship members, and ship modules.

This game is one of my favorite games. The graphics are almost cartoonish and can be pixely but the resolution is very good. Being able to pause the game at any time can make it easier but that can help with strategy. Fighting enemy ships is confusing at first and is very fast paced. The story line is not the best, but has a lot of content. A lot of the outcomes of different events are decided randomly and that can make the player lose something or get something; I  do not like that, but it sometimes makes me happy when the outcome is good. The game play is extremely well done and I found it very hard to get bored playing it. I give this game a 4.5/5. This game is amazingly good considering it was made by an independent producer and an independent game maker.
